WSOP Top Players of 2011

As 2011 came to an end, it’s the right time to evaluate poker players’ performance of the year. The world’s major poker event is fairly considered to be WSOP (hope nobody argues), so let’s discuss WSOP top players, ranked according to their cumulative measure of performance. The Formula of 2011 WSOP/WSOPE Player of the Year is quite complicated, but guarantees that the points are allocated fairly.

The 2011 World Series of Poker Player of the Year is powered by BLUFF Magazine. A total of 62 WSOP and WSOP E bracelet events are eligible for gaining points under the improved scoring system. All open bracelet events count towards the POY standings but the Ladies Championship, Seniors Championship and Casino Employees event are not included, so thereis ZERO point awarded for the following events:

Introduction

Texas  Hold’em is the most popular poker variation. Vast popularity of the game is explained by the fact that  learning Hold’em is extremely easy. Another reason is that it’s extremely difficult to master the game and hence the army of newcomers “feeds” good and great Hold’em players. Even though it’s easy to learn Hold’em, it does not mean that you have an inherent ability of playing it. Therefore, there is a need for a beginner’s guide and this article is the best place to start learning Hold’em.
