As 2011 came to an end, it’s the right time to evaluate poker players’ performance of the year. The world’s major poker event is fairly considered to be WSOP (hope nobody argues), so let’s discuss WSOP top players, ranked according to their cumulative measure of performance. The Formula of 2011 WSOP/WSOPE Player of the Year is quite complicated, but guarantees that the points are allocated fairly.
The 2011 World Series of Poker Player of the Year is powered by BLUFF Magazine. A total of 62 WSOP and WSOP E bracelet events are eligible for gaining points under the improved scoring system. All open bracelet events count towards the POY standings but the Ladies Championship, Seniors Championship and Casino Employees event are not included, so thereis ZERO point awarded for the following events:
• All non-WSOP gold bracelet events
• $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em (Event 1)
• $1,000 Championship Ladies Event No-Limit Hold’em (Event 53)
• $1,000 Championship Seniors No-Limit Hold’em (Event 30)
